Open Position – Deputy Town Clerk

DEPUTY TOWN CLERK

HOPKINTON, RI: Full-time, 40 hours weekly, union position, starting salary with a range of $50,000 – $56,000, with benefits. Candidates must possess an associate’s degree and at least three years of experience in a comparable municipal position or other related fields. The Deputy Town Clerk serves as deputy-clerk to the Town Council, Board of Canvassers, and Probate Court; assists in recording and maintaining records; issues birth/death certificates and marriage licenses; issues other licenses and collects fees required by state law, local ordinances or Town Charter.  Candidate must be dependable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented, with excellent computer, typing, and verbal/written communication skills.  The candidate must be able to make decisions necessary to perform duties in the absence of the Town Clerk and deal effectively with public officials, employees, and the public.
