Hopkinton is an historic town located in the southwest corner of Rhode Island. The size of the town is 44 square miles and the population is approximately 8,000. It was incorporated in March 1757 and consists of four villages, Ashaway, Bradford, Hope Valley, and Rockville. Hopkinton has over 1,000 acres of open space, supporting various recreational activities, including hiking, fishing and canoeing. Hopkinton is part of the Chariho School District, which also includes the towns of Charlestown and Richmond. Hopkinton is home to the oldest continuous family business in the U.S. - Ashaway Line & Twine.

Chariho Public Budget Workshops

The Chariho Regional School District Committee will hold a number of public budget workshops on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, February 14, 2012 - Budget Approval at SC Meeting at 7:00 PM in the CHS Library
  • Tuesday, March 6, 2012 - Annual Regional School District Meeting (Public Hearing on the Budget) in the CMS Auditorium at 7:00 PM
  • Tuesday, March 13, 2012 - Budget Adoption at SC Meeting at 7:00 PM in the CHS Library
  • Tuesday, April 10, 2012 - Budget Referendum

Tax Payment Due Date Changes

The due dates for Tax Payments changed for the 2010 Tax Year. Please see the following due dates:

  • March 8, 2012
  • June 8, 2012

Volunteers Needed!
