Hopkinton is an historic town located in the southwest corner of Rhode Island. The size of the town is 44 square miles and the population is approximately 8,000. It was incorporated in March 1757 and consists of four villages, Ashaway, Bradford, Hope Valley, and Rockville. Hopkinton has over 1,000 acres of open space, supporting various recreational activities, including hiking, fishing and canoeing. Hopkinton is part of the Chariho School District, which also includes the towns of Charlestown and Richmond. Hopkinton is home to the oldest continuous family business in the U.S. - Ashaway Line & Twine.

Revaluation Information

Vision Government Solutions has sent full revaluation notices to all property owners in the Town Of Hopkinton. The notice includes old and new values along with a website address to view the new property records cards. 

New property record cards may be viewed at http://gis.vgsi.com/HopkintonRI/

If you have any questions or concerns with the new value or the information supplied on the new property record card, please follow the directions in the notice to set up an appointment with a Vision Government Solutions representative.  If you are satisfied with your new valuation, no action is required.   If you have not received a notice, please call the tax assessor’s office at 401-377-7780.

Tax Payment Interest Waiver Ordinance

The Town Council has recently passed a new Ordinance that allows the Tax Collector to waive one quarter’s worth of interest on one overdue property tax payment, if certain conditions are met.

Home Repair Program

The Town of Hopkinton is notifying homeowners that it has a program available for the repair of homes owned and/or occupied by persons or families of low to moderate income.  This program is funded by the State of Rhode Island, with funds obtained from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
