Hopkinton is an historic town located in the southwest corner of Rhode Island. The size of the town is 44 square miles and the population is approximately 8,000. It was incorporated in March 1757 and consists of four villages, Ashaway, Bradford, Hope Valley, and Rockville. Hopkinton has over 1,000 acres of open space, supporting various recreational activities, including hiking, fishing and canoeing. Hopkinton is part of the Chariho School District, which also includes the towns of Charlestown and Richmond. Hopkinton is home to the oldest continuous family business in the U.S. - Ashaway Line & Twine.

Tax Collector's Sale

The Hopkinton Tax Collector will be holding a public auction in the Town Hall Council Chambers on July 26th at 10:00 a.m.

Polly Coon Bridge Now Open

On Thursday, May 24th, 2013 there was a ribbon cutting ceremony crossing the Pawcatuck River between Westerly and Hopkinton.

Tax Payment Interest Waiver Ordinance

The Town Council has recently passed a new Ordinance that allows the Tax Collector to waive one quarter’s worth of interest on one overdue property tax payment, if certain conditions are met.

Home Repair Program

The Town of Hopkinton is notifying homeowners that it has a program available for the repair of homes owned and/or occupied by persons or families of low to moderate income.  This program is funded by the State of Rhode Island, with funds obtained from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
