| Conservation
Commission |
The Conservation Commission consists of seven members, appointed by
the Town Council for terms of three years. The Conservation Commission
was created to promote and develop the natural resources, to protect
the watershed resources, and to preserve natural esthetic areas within
the town.
The Conservation Commission meets on the second Tuesday of each month
at 7pm at the Town Hall. |

| Land Trust |
|
The Land Trust consists of seven members, appointed by
the Town Council for variable terms of up to 7 years. The mission of the Hopkinton Land Trust is to protect the Town Hopkinton's rural character and natural heritage. This is accomplished by preserving land as open space through acquisition and conservation easement while maintaining, where possible, public access to these natural resources.
The Land Trust meets on the fourth Monday of each month at 7pm at the Crandall House.

| Historic
District |
The Historic
District Commission consists of five members, appointed by the Town
Council President, with the consent of council, for a term of three
years. The Historic District Commission is responsible for maintaining
the Historic Districts and other designated structures of historic
or architectural value in the town which reflects elements of Hopkinton's
cultural, social, economic, polictical, and architectural history.
The Historic District Commission meets on the fourth Monday of alternating
months (Jan/March/May/July/Sept/Nov) at 7pm at the Town Hall. |

| Juvenile
Hearing Board |
The Juvenile Hearing Board is established to promote the public health, safety, morals, and general welfare in and for the Town of Hopkinton. The Board shall hear all cases referred to it from the Chief of Police, or his designee, with respect to persons resident of the Town of Hopkinton, under the age of eighteen, who are charged with violating the criminal laws of the State of Rhode Island, limited to wayward, misdemeanor and status offenses, and violations of Town Ordinances. The membership of the Hopkinton Juvenile Hearing Board shall consist of not less than three nor more than five persons, resident of the Town of Hopkinton.
The Juvenile Hearing Board meets the first Thursday and second Thursday if needed of each month at 1pm at the Hopkinton Police station. |

| Planning
Board |
The Planning
Board consists of five members, appointed by the Town Council for
terms of five years. The Planning Board is responsible for studies
of the resources and needs of the town with reference to its physical,
economic, and social growth and development as affecting the health,
safety, morals and general welfare of the people. This board prepares
and adopts a comprehensive plan for the development of the town.
The Planning Board meets the first Wednesday of each month at 7pm
at Town Hall. |

Commission |
| The Police
Commission consists of three members, appointed by the Town Council
for a term of three years. The Police Commission serves as the supervisory
arm of the police department, acting as appointed members of the Town
Council and subordinate to the Town Council on all police matters. |

Commission |
The Recreation Commission consists of five members, appointed by the
Town Council for terms of five years. This commission is responsible
for the creation and management of recreation facilities.
The Recreation Commission meets the third Tuesday of each month at
7:30pm at the Crandall House. |

| Zoning
Board |
The Zoning Board consists of five regular members and two alternates,
appointed by the Town Council for terms of five years. The Zoning
Board shall be responsible for enforcing the Zoning Ordinace, determing
appeals, approving applications and issuing special use permits.
The Zoning Board meets the third Tuesday of each month at 7pm at the
Town Hall. |

Affordable Housing Partnership |
| The Affordable Housing Partnership committee consists of five members appointed by the Town Council for a term of five years. The AHP’s duties include maintaining a list of candidates for the affordable housing, oversee lotteries that control access to affordable units and advocate for the creation of affordable housing for the elderly and special needs groups.

| Committee on Aging |
The Committee on Aging consists of five members appointed by the Hopkinton Town Council. The Committee on Aging is responsible for examining issues and problems facing the aged and aging residents of the Town. The purpose of the Committee on Aging is to explore possible solutions to the issues and problems and to report its findings and recommendations to the Town Council.
The Committee on Aging meets at the Crandall House the first Monday of the month at 12:30 PM. |

Development Commission |
The Economic
Development Commission consists of seven members, appointed by the
Town Council for terms of five years. The Economic Development Commission
is responsible for studying, investigating, promoting and encouraging
the preservation, expansion and sound development in the town of industry,
business, commerce and tourism. The Commission shall be considered
the economic development agency in the town.
The Economic Development Commission is inactive due to lack of membership. |

Board |
The Finance
Board consists of seven members, appointed by the Town Council for
terms of five years. The Finance Board is responsible for considering
any and all questions involving the expenditure of monies for the
town and for the purpose of making reports or recommendations thereon
to the town council, including the adoption of a proposed annual town
budget.
The Finance Board is inactive due to lack of membership. |

The Highway
Commission consists of seven members, appointed by the Town Council
for terms of three years. The Highway Commission serves to advise
on matters relating to the condition and management of the Town's
property, highways, and landfill.
