Whereas, the Tax Assessor of the Town of Hopkinton is directed by the provisions of Chapter 31 of the General Laws of Rhode Island, 1938, as amended by Chapter 2330 of the Public Laws of 1949 to assess annually the valuations of all the ratable property of said town and to make such assessment of valuations as of December 31, 2007. NOW, Therefore notice is hereby given that pursuant to the provisions of said Chapter 31, as amended, and in conformity with the law in relation to the assessment of valuation, every person and body corporate liable to taxation is required to bring into the Assessor, a true and exact account of all ratable estate owned or possessed by him or it, describing and specifying the value of every parcel of such real estate and personal estate. Such accounts must be filed with the Assessor's office at the Town Hall in said Town of Hopkinton during the normal workday period, beginning January 1st., A.D. 2005 at 8:30 o'clock A.M. , and ending January 31st., A.D. 2008 at 4:30 o'clock P.M.

Provided, however, that if any person or body corporate liable to taxation shall file with the Assessor, on or before the expiration date prescribed by the Assessor as aforesaid, a written notice of his or its intention to bring in an account, such person or body corporate may bring in to the Assessor such account at any time between March 1st, and March 15th next following the date of assessment. The notice of intention to bring in an account shall be deemed to have been filed with the Assessor if the same shall be sent to them by registered or certified mail postage prepaid, postmarked before twelve midnight of the last day on which notice may be filed. Such account shall be deemed to be brought into the Assessor if the same shall be sent to them by registered or certified mail, postage prepaid, postmarked before twelve o'clock midnight of the last day on which accounts may be brought in pursuant to the provisions hereof; provided, however, in case any such person or body corporate shall fail to file any intention as aforesaid, he or it shall be deemed to have waived his or its right to file such account.

Executors, administrators, guardians, and trustees are hereby notified that all the foregoing applies to them and to trust estates as well as to other persons and property. All ratable real and personal estate will be taxed to the persons, co-partnerships, or bodies corporate who own or hold the same (or who owned or held same) at 12:00 o'clock midnight as of the 31st. day of December. A.D. 2007 said date being known as the date of assessment of town valuations.
